TALAY
TRANG ARCHIPELAGO
Collectively,
there are 47 islands in Trang.
They are especially crowded in the Had Chao Mai
National Park in Si Gao and Gan Tang which covers the western coast
line for 20 kilometers.
KRADAN ISLAND
This is where the Representative Office of the National Park locates.
It is a good diving site for observing various kinds of coral reefs
and fishes.
CHUAK ISLAND
Exhibited
by the 2 islands which are partitioned by a huge rock digging a natural
channel that generates the swift current, Chuak Island is known as a
site for underwater coral reefs and
deep-sea diving with its reputation for abundance of colorful
reefs and various species of fishes. Ropes are dropped for
supporting the divers due to the turbulent flow of the sea
water in this area.
MOOK ISLAND
Most
parts of the island are filled with towering rocks
encouraging the swallows to inhabit along the cliff. The
fascinating Morakot Cave is hidden inside, where its tiny
entrance will provide the only sufficient space for the swimmers or
the small boats to pass through and to admire its beauty only when the
tide recedes. The inner emerald sea is
embraced by the white sandy beach and high cliffs.
LIBONG ISLAND
This
is the biggest island in Talay Trang. Other than being the home of dugongs,
various species of sea birds are assembled. Particularly in the
cold season, the large immigrating flock is waders. Joo Hoy Cape and
Toob Beach is the good bird-watching site.
SUGORN ISLAND
Is is situated in Tambon Goh Sugorn, Pa Lian. The southern
coast of this island is geographically plain terrain. The beaches
around the island are suitable for recreation. especially the beach
around Sugorn Resort which is on the west coast and Yao Beach on the
east.
NORTH LAO LIANG AND SOUTH LAO LIANG ISLAND
These
are 2 connected islands in Pa Lian. Most of the areas are filled with
mountains, except for the short plain beach on the east. Mainly covered
with dense forests, there is no residential community on land.
