Tiger Temple Tour, Deep in the heart of the Kanchanaburi province in Western Thailand there lies a Buddhist temple with a difference. For not only is this temple home to monks who spend their time in prayer and meditation, over the last 7 years it has become a sanctuary for tigers.
"Tiger Island" will be a large piece of land with a deep high-sided moat around it so that the tigers can have somewhere to roam free for at least some of the time. There would also be a walkway around the moat so that tourists could watch the tigers roaming.
River Kwai and Death Railway Internationally famous, the black iron bridge was brought from java by the Japanese Army and reassembled under Japanese supervision by Allied prisoners of war labor as part of the "Death Railway" linking Thailand with Myanmar.
JEATH War Museum, This enclave in the riverside precincts of Wat Chaichumphon has been constructed largely in the from to allied prisoners of war camp. The name JEATH is derived from Japan, England, America, Australia, Thailand and Holland.
Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, This cemetery contain the remains of 6,982 war prisoners who lost their lives during the Captivity of the Japanese Army that forced them to build the Bridge over the River Kwai and the Death Railway.
