activities and sports, a just 4 kids children's club and play areas. Two sand
courts are part of this activity center they are not only unique but also somewhat compensate for the lack of beach around the hotel. |
The Central Kata Resort has the Seasons Restaurant (Coffee Shop), the Waves
Pool Bar, the Emerald Pool Bar, the Bamboo Bar (with snooker table, entertainment
area) as well as Room Service.
Clientele during the 2006/7 season may still be heavily on the Scandinavian
side; however, the Central Group endeavor to diversify their markets in the
coming season.
At the Central Katas doorsteps I counted at least 3 massage shops all conveniently
adjoined. A bit further up the road, near the Sawasdee Village, there
are a few more shops promising muscular tension relief. With so much supply on such small space one has to wonder if clients
staying in this area are prone to muscular and joint |

Phuket nalina resort & spa If you follow the
road past Sawasdee Village you wont miss Katas newest hotel addition:
Phuket Nalina Resort & Spa. Owned and managed by the newly
established Alpina International Management, the Nalina will be the
first of a total of 7 properties the group plans to own and/or manage
by the end of 2007. You just add 200 meters to the distance it takes
you to get from the Central Kata Resort to the beach and you know
how far the journey to the shores is. However, the Nalina secured 66
sunbeds and 33 umbrellas on Kata Beach (in front of Club Med) in
order to provide their guests with controlled quality; free shuttle service
between the beach and the resort shall be provided.
Theres still a lot of construction going on but one is quite

Kata thani The reports draft was already completed when I learned about some noteworthy developments at Kata
Thani. A quick walk to the shores of serenity was already worth the drive, for the beach looked indeed fantastic (see this reports
title picture). I had visited the property a few days earlier for a dinner party. Food, drink and atmosphere were fantastic;but it made you wonder by what
factor the averageguests weight
would |
multiply during their stay.
My daytime re-visits purpose
were the 30 newly renovated
rooms of Superior type, located
in the Mountain Beach Building
at the southern most end of the
property, adjacent to the Kata
Bhuri Wings coffee shop. The
three-storey u-shaped building
has its own swimming pool. The |
