Trip Description
A perfect bus & boat combination trip to the distinctive border town. Be impressed with the splendid lake surrounded by limestone mountains while being on a river journey. Glimpses of ethnic floating villages, local way of life, and visits to some prominent places along the border.

Itinerary


Day 1 (Meal : - / Lunch / -)
07.00 : Leave the accommodation in Kanchanaburi by a/c van. Continue further north of the town to the stunningly scenic Thong Papoom district.
09.00 :

Reach Khao Laem Lake in the splendid location surrounded by the mountains. Start a river journey by motor boat, cruising the lake with its exceptionnally beautiful scenery. Be impressed with the gorgeous view featuring the charming limestone mountain peaks, tropical forests and the local lifestyle of fishing community scattering on the lake.
10.30 :

Reach the borderland of Sangklaburi town. Glimpse the underwater temple of the old community and the impressive view of the ethnic town with Thailand’s longest Wooden Bridge being its landmark. Spot local activities around the settlement of ethnic residents (mainly Mon, Burmese and Karen from Burma). Nice walk along the Bridge to the ethnic Mon camp, then the Mon temple, and its distinctive monastry. Shopping of wooden items and other local souvenirs mainly from Burma can be very attractive due to their unique designs and incredibly reasonable price.
12.00 : Lunch at local restaurant. Then visit Three Pagodas Pass.
15.00 : Continue a river journey back to Thong Papoom.
16.00 : Arrive Thong Papoom, pick up by van and return to Kanchanaburi.
18.00 : Reach Kanchanaburi, transfer to the accommodation.
