The Grand Palace

There a few tour guides in Bangkok that can speak seven languages, only speak when asked to and, hang comfortably around your neck.

That was until The Office of the Royal Household introduced Personal Audio Guides, a Mini Disc Player with a guided tour of the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha on a mini CD . Visitors are able to have a leisurely and informed tour stopping and starting the narrative as required.

Initially the narrative guide is available in French, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Mandarin and English. Other languages will be added at a later date when required. The oral presentation is made by interpreters of Association International Des Interpretes De Conference to ensure accuracy in each language.

The hire charge is B200 for two hours, renters are required to leave their passports as a deposit, which can be re-claimed on return of the mini disc player
