A New Conrad for Phuket in 2004

Conrad Hotels have just announced an agreement with one of its parent companies, Hilton International, and Pawaburi Company Limited, to open the new luxurious Conrad Phuket Resort & Spa (the property currently operating as the Panwaburi Resort & Spa).

The Panwaburi Resort and Spa located on the east side of Phuket will undergo a 12-month enhancement program before being re-flagged as the Conrad Phuket Resort & Spa and will be positioned as an intimate beachside retreat.

“Over the next 12 months we will invest more than US$ 7 million to upgrade the property to the renowned Conrad standards,” said Methee Tanmanatragul, Director of Panwaburi Co. Ltd.

Enhancements include the construction of 31 luxury villas, each with a private plunge pool, upgrades to the existing 79 rooms such as the bathrooms and soft furnishings, enhancement of the spa facilities, creative landscaping of the surrounding gardens, and the development of a large infinity-edge swimming pool three times the size of an existing pool and offering sweeping ocean views.

“With its strong global sales and marketing network, Conrad will bring to this partnership an ability to efficiently promote, sell and manage our Panwa Bay Property,” added Methee. “We believe our co-operation with Conrad will give us a very strong position in Thailand’s luxury resort segment.”

Throughout the renovations, the property will continue to operate as Panwaburi Resort and Spa.
