Angel Airlines add Four New Routes

Thailand’s second national carrier Angel Air has just added four new routes in addition to the present Bangkok – Hong Kong - Bangkok route that operates a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. To provide these services the airline has wet leased two 274 seat Airbus A300-600R from China Northern Airline, China’s third largest airline.

The service between Hong Kong – Phuket – Hong Kong started on 17th June and operates twice a week on Wednesday and Sunday.

Between Bangkok and Macao the service started on 19th June. Departing from Bangkok at 4.30pm and arriving into Macao at 8.15pm the flight operates on Tuesday and Thursday. In 2000 some 8 million passengers departed the island. This offers a direct link to Bangkok without needing to take the hydrofoil to Hong Kong.

The daily service Phuket – Bangkok - Osaka started on 21st June departing Phuket at 9.10am arriving into Bangkok at 10.30. After a short layover the flight departs Bangkok arriving into Osaka at 7.30pm. This is mainly to serve Japanese golfers wishing to play in Phuket.

Finally the fourth route a daily service Bangkok to Phuket started on 22nd June. The flight leaves Bangkok at 6.50am arriving into Phuket at 8.10am.

The strategy is that Japan generates an increasing number of high spending tourists. While China has a high potential for business and economic expansion, attracting a large number of foreign investors.

In addition to these routes the airline is currently negotiating traffic right between Bangkok and Seoul and Taipei. Future possible routes are India, Dubai and Europe.
