The Royal Trophy – Europe vs Asia Golf Championship 2010

A prestigeous golf competition is back to the Land of Smile again!

On 8th – 10th January 2010, Thailand hosts The Royal Trophy - Europe vs Asia Golf Championship at Amata Spring Country Club in Chonburi. It is a spectacular series of golf matches played between the teams of Europe and Asia. The competition is held annually in Thailand since 2006 and the 16-kilogram solid-silver Trophy from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej is a principal award for this competition.

The third edition of The Royal Trophy held earlier this year has ended with the first remarkable victory of the Asian team, captained by a Japanese golfing giant Naomichi 'Joe' Ozaki. He will remain as the captain this time and defend the team from the European team's attempt to win back the trophy, led by Seve Ballesteros.

The event venue, Amata Spring Country Club, is located between Bangna-Trad Elevated Highway (#34) and Bangkok-Chonburi Motorway (#7: Exit Panath Nikhom). It is about 57km southeast of Bangkok and is expected to take approximately 45 – 60 minutes from Bangkok.
