Just like any ChinaTown in the world, Bangkok’s ChinaTown is exotic, vibrant and undoubtedly noisy. A large Chinese community settled here since the 17th century and they still continue to trade generations after generations. Tourists and locals visit ChinaTown for several reasons; to pay respect to the famous Golden Buddha, stock up on dozens of Chinese medicines, sampling authentic side-street dishes and wandering around Sampeng lane and Pahurat textile Market. Despites feeling completely worn out while shopping for inexpensive goodies, nobody ever returns home empty handed!
