Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Lopburi - Phitsanulok - Sukhothai - Lampang - Phayao - Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai - Bangkok by train

Depart from Bangkok to Bang Pa In for a scenic boat trip to Ayutthaya. Visit Wat Maha Daht with its revered Buddha statue, Phra Buddha Jinaraj in Phitsanulok. Continue to Sri Satchanalai, the northern outpost town of the Kingdom of Sukhothai. Drive to Lampang to see Wat Chedi Sao. Proceed to Chiang Rai, visit the hill tribe community, the Golden Triangle and enjoy a boat trip on the Mekong. Trip will end in Chiang Mai which is the visit include the local handicraft centers, Wat Doi Suthep, an elephant camp in Chiang Dao and watch the skilled elephants at work.

Note :

  • Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on weather, road conditions and room availability.
  • You may deduct the amount of Baht 600 per person, if do not require the train ticket from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. However, this is only applicable when we are informed at the time of booking.
  • If domestic air-ticket from Chiang Mai – Bangkok by Thai Airways (economy class) is required instead of train ticket, supplement will be Thai Baht 1,700 per person

Monday / Tuesday
Day 1 : BANGKOK - AYUTTHAYA - LOPBURI - PHITSANULOK (-/L/-)

Early morning pick up passengers from various Bangkok hotels, drive to Bang Pa In for a scenic boat trip to Ayutthaya. Visit Wat Yai Chaya Mongkol and the ancient ruins of Wat Chai Wattanaram. Continue to Lopburi, where we will take you around the city in pedaled rickshaws. After lunch at a local restaurant continue to Phitsanulok. Overnight at TOPLAND HOTEL.

Tuesday / Wednesday
Day 2 : PHITSANULOK - SUKHOTHAI - LAMPANG (B/L/-)

Visit Wat Maha That and its highly revered Buddha statue, Phra Buddha Jinaraj. Drive to Sukhothai, where you will visit the ancient ruins at Sukhothai Historical Park and Wat Sri Chum with it's gigantic Buddha statue. Continue to Sri Satchanalai for lunch at Wang Yom Restaurant. Upon arrival in Lampang we will take you on a tour of the old city on horse carriages. You will also visit Baan Sao Nak, a 100-year old teak-wood mansion, and Wat Chedi Sao, which derives its name from 20 stupas erected on the temple grounds. Monks at this temple prepare medicines from herbs and plants, which promise to cure a large number of remedies. Overnight at LAMPANG RIVER LODGE.

Wednesday / Thursday
Day 3 : LAMPANG - PHAYAO - CHIANG RAI (B/L/-)

After a brief visit to the morning market, drive to Phayao with the biggest natural lake in Thailand. Proceed to Chiang Rai. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the hill tribe community project at Ban Lorcha. Drive via Mae Sai, the northernmost Thai town to the Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos converge. After a boat trip on the Mekong River drive to Chiang Rai. Overnight at RIMKOK RESORT.

Thursday / Friday
Day 4 : CHIANG RAI - CHIANG MAI (B/L/-)

Early morning depart for Chiang Mai and visit the local handicraft centers around Chiang Mai. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon visit Wat Doi Suthep, a famous landmark of the city, tucked away in the mountains at an elevation of 1,056 meters. The temple is reached by climbing 290 steps, flanked by a NAGA balustrade on both sides.
Optional evening program: Enjoy a typical Kantoke dinner with a presentation of traditional dances from Northern Thailand. Price per person: 300 Baht inclusive transfers. Overnight at CHIANG MAI PLAZA or similar.

Friday / Saturday
Day 5 : CHIANG MAI - BANGKOK BY TRAIN (B/L/-)

Visit an elephant camp in Chiang Dao and watch the skilled elephants at work.
Optional: Elephant ride & bamboo rafting. Price per person: 700 Baht.
Continue to visit an orchid farm. After lunch at a local restaurant, free time until transfer to Chiang Mai Railway Station. Depart by second-class air-conditioned train with sleeping berth (Couchette). Overnight ON THE TRAIN.

Saturday/ Sunday
Day 6 : BANGKOK (-/-/-)

Arrive at Bangkok Railway Station and transfer to your hotel (breakfast not included).
